The first three years of a child’s life is very crucial. At this stage brains develop at a rapid rate and like sponges, children soak up all the information from their environment and engage actively in making sense of the experiences they gather. Every bit of experience they go through builds various connections in their brains.

According to Maria Montessori, “As the child absorbs words and their meaning along with the context and the emotions behind the words, she begins to construct the ability to communicate.” Children learn to develop their identity, acquire social skills and continue to build on their knowledge through what they absorb from the world around. This lays the foundation for habits of active engagement and future structured learning.
